Overview

Experience the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet, where love and tragedy intertwine in the heart of Verona. Two young lovers, from feuding families, find their destinies sealed by passion, fate, and miscommunication. Shakespeare’s iconic masterpiece explores the power of love and the consequences of hatred, set against a backdrop of breathtaking poetry and unforgettable drama. Whether you're revisiting this classic or discovering it for the first time, Romeo and Juliet will captivate your heart and leave you reflecting on the fragility of life and love.

This is a 3 week Production with performances on July 10th and July 11th at 7pm. The tuition covers all three weeks, including costuming.

June 23-27 from 1-5pm June 30-July 3 from 1-5pm July 7-11 from 1-5pm except Wednesday (7/9), Thursday (7/10) and Friday (7/11) which will be 1-8pm.

Performances will be July 10 and July 11 at 7pm.

  • Director: Jason Bortz.
  • Director Bio: Jason Bortz is a NorCal School of the Arts teaching artist and is grateful to have trained in Seattle with The Film School's John Jacobsen before traveling to New York to attend the National Shakespeare Conservatory. In L.A., he was a core member of the Shakespeare & Friends Foundation performing for “at risk” inner-city schools while working and developing his coaching process “Passion to Craft: Your Method.” A founding member of the Capital Film Arts Alliance in Sacramento, Jason has received top awards from Style Magazine’s “Best of the Best”, Sacramento News & Review, the KCRA TV “A” List, and Sacramento Magazine.A performer and director of many plays, Jason is also a member of SAG/AFTRA, credited in acting, voiceover, producing, writing and directing in film, television and video games. His short films garnered awards in festivals across the country. Represented by the Bitela Agency, he provides screenplay coverage and served as a guest screenwriting instructor for The Learning Exchange. The greatest position he has held is Dad to his awesome kids.
