Title of Position: Arts Team Leader
Reports to: Arts Program Manager

Essential Workforce
Summary: The Arts Team Leader is responsible for leading a class of 10 - 20 Kindergarten through 6th grade students during before and after school expanded learning time. This position integrates arts modalities into science, sports, crafts, and other applicable expertise in a safe and supportive environment. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of the school district and NorCal School of the Arts.
Compensation Range: $18.00 - $20 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of 48 units in a degree related to education, child development, theatre arts, arts education or Paraeducator certificate*;
- Verification of a negative Tuberculosis test;
- CA Department of Justice criminal background check clearance;
- Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background check clearance;
- Passion for working with youth.
*Your employment is dependent on passing the paraeducator exam if you do not have at least 48 hours of college credit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate
- Safe, respectful, inclusive, and fun atmosphere;
- Facility cleanliness and maintenance;
- Safety training, drills;
- The social, emotional and instructional tone and style of the school day.
- Programmatic
- Follow the identified safe, supportive and respectful learning environment;
- Follow health and safety protocols;
- Follow procedures for preparation, setting up, and snack/meal distribution;
- Take accurate attendance within 10 minutes of program start and report absences to the Arts Program Manager;
- Follow identified transitional processes that support safety, efficiency, and comfort;
- Provide active and engaged supervision to students;
- Follow youth development principles;
- Deliver inspiring and well thought out academic and enrichment activities;
- Contribute to weekly lesson plans aligned with themes and goals;
- Facilitate active and engaged learning and skill development lesson plans that support arts integration, STEM, reading fluency, physical activity, healthy choices and behaviors, and sports learning;
- Implement curriculum with fidelity;
- Follow established proactive behavior management intervention processes;
- Support student social and emotional development;
- Travel with students on field trips and special events.
- Communicate
- Build rapport with classroom teachers through positive and professional relationships; is there something in the program and asst program managers job title to cultivate the relationship between the classroom teacher and team leaders?
- Proactively communicate with the Arts Program Manager about behavior, academics, schedule, activities, damage, and special projects;
- Training and Staff Development
- Participate in staff development meetings;
- Participate in assigned training and development;
- Identify personal training needs;
